Kambo CERMONY
Ceremony at Camino Kambo
A Guided Path into Presence, Purification & Remembering
Kambo is received within a carefully prepared ceremonial container. Each gathering is intimate, intentional, and guided with reverence for the medicine, the lineage it comes from, and the individuals present.
The Flow of the Ceremony
Kambo is traditionally considered a morning medicine, as fasting for 10–12 hours prior is important. Ceremonies typically begin between 9–10am and are held in small groups of 2–5 participants, allowing for personal attention and deep support.
Our connection begins with space to discuss lingering questions, concerns or needs around the process or allies we are working with (Kambo, Hape` or Sananga). Feeling safe, informed, and present is a crucial step before the medicine is welcomed into your body. We will move through a Somatic practice - this could be Breathwork, Kundalini yoga, Bioenergetics or other therapies - This supports relaxation and enhances the body’s innate knowing, encouraging the mind to soften and the body to ease.
The ceremonial space is opened with prayer, sacred herbs, and intention. Each participant is encouraged to share their intention aloud, inviting the group to hold and energize the intention together.
Kambo is applied individually, one person at a time, ensuring focused care and support. Placement points are selected intentionally based on your experience and intentions. A small test point is always offered first to observe the body’s response, followed by a gradual and gentle application of the remaining medicine.
Before application, participants drink 1-2 liters water to support the body’s natural cleansing process. The active portion of the experience typically lasts 50 minutes. Once complete, the application points are removed and gates are sealed and rest is encouraged while the ceremony continues for others.
The ceremony closes in prayer and gratitude. Light foods and herbal infusions are offered. Aftercare guidance is always provided.
Extensive details of the medicines, as well as pre-ceremony and post ceremony processes are given with inquiry.
Three Days in a Lunar Cycle
Traditionally, Kambo is received three times within one lunar cycle (28–29 days). This is known as the Sacred Trinity and allows the medicine to move more deeply while honoring integration between sessions.
These three ceremonies may be consecutive or spaced weekly (every 7–10 days). Integration time is essential. The medicine is not only physical—it moves through emotional and psycho-spiritual layers. Intention, reflection, and rest between sessions are strongly encouraged.
